Paintings
Paintings of the Australian Outback, most of which are in the process of final touch ups, and are sitting around awaiting varnish. The framed paintings were done as my first entry into the art scene about 10 years' ago, and the others are my current projects. The earlier ones were painted with traditional oil paints, and the recent ones were painted with water-based oils. Regardless of the toxicity issues with painting with traditional oils and the obvious convenience of using the water-based oils, I will most likely return to traditional oils when the current batch of paints is depleted, that is, if I am still keen on painting.
Jim Jim Creek, Northern Territory
Framed, one of the first three I attempted, painted in traditional oils around 10 years' ago. From my photo of Jim Jim Creek which leads up to Jim Jim Falls in the Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory. (Probably around 76 cm x 60 cm, need to check, hanging elsewhere).

Roebuck Bay (#2)
Another attempt at Roebuck Bay, painted around 5 years' ago, in traditional oils. Painted from a photo taken at dusk. Roebuck Bay captures the after glow of the Broome sky from the other side of the isthmus from Cable Beach where the sunsets are famous. (Painting size 62 cm x 30 cm).

Jack's Waterhole
Jack's Waterhole is a camping area (on the Durack River) is accessed via the Gibb River Road, but I believe is no longer used. This painting was inspired by a magnificent sunset over the river. A very small painting, 20 cm x 20 cm.
Lake Kununurra, Kimberley
Painted from a photo taken from a tour boat at sunset on the lake. Kununurra is on the northern border of Western Australia and Northern Territory. (Painting is 60 cm x 60 cm).
Rainbow Valley, Central Australia
From my photo of Rainbow Valley, south of Alice Springs, relatively unpublicized venue 23 klms east of the Stuart Highway. (Painting size, 60 cm x 45 cm, probably my favourite size).
Heron Island
Framed, and painted about 10 years' ago, one of the first three I painted, which were in traditional oils. Photograph was taken from the beach at sunset, highlighting the remains of the old turtle cannery. (I think around 76 cm x 60 cm).
Frangipani Beach, The Tip
From a photo taken along the walking (climbing) track to The Ti, Cape York Peninsula, far north Queensland. (Painting size is 76 cm x 52 cm).
Road around Uluru
Road which circumnavigates Uluru. Size 60 cm x 45 cm. Water based oils.
Betka Beach
Painted in September 2019, painting is from a photograph taken by myself at Betka Beach in Mallacoota, in the far south-eastern corner of the Victorian coastline. Size of painting is 60 cms x 45 cms.
Climate Change
A generic painting, inspired by fires raging across Australia in September and October 2019. Used water mixable oil paints, and the size if 45 cms x 45 cms.

Painted in March 2020, using water mixable oils. The size is 60 cms x 50 cms. Painted from one of my photos of Jack's Waterhole at dawn. Camp site no longer accessible to travellers.
