Far North Savannah Way

The Savannah Way is a route of highways and major roads across the tropical savannahs of northern Australia, linking Cairns in Queensland with Broome in Western Australia.

Hell's Gate Roadhouse

Hells Gate Roadhouse, an Isolated roadhouse on northern Savannah Way. Was sometimes open, sometimes closed, seemingly on whether the Calvert River was able to be crossed or not. You needed to check your laptop for updates. Nothing else around for hundreds of kilometres.

Outback fuel options at the isolated Hells Gate Roadhouse, and this was 2010. No competition here. Next fuel 365 kilometres further on. I believe the roadhouse, which is part of the Clifford Station has been significantly updated around 2015.
